What Causes Hair Loss
While many things can cause hair loss—trauma, disease, medical treatments, malnutrition, stress, etc.—the most common cause for both men and women, is simple genetics. More specifically, if you’re experiencing balding, a receding hairline, or thinning hair, the most common culprit is form of testosterone called DHT. DHT, which is present in both men and women, causes hair follicles to become progressively thinner and smaller until it eventually dies.
