Question:

Can I get silicone breast implants removed and replaced with saline implants?  Is this procedure as extensive as the implant surgery was originally?

Answer:

The answer is yes, you certainly can get silicone breast implants removed and replaced with saline implants.  This procedure may or may not be as extensive as the original implant surgery depending upon the specifics of your original surgery.

If your silicone implants are already below your pectoralis muscle, then the surgery should be pretty easy and straight forward.  However, if your silicone implants are placed above the muscle, then you would have to have your saline implants placed underneath the muscle otherwise you would risk having very visible and noticeable rippling and an unnatural result.

Saline implants must almost always be placed below the muscle.  This does not make the surgery more complicated; however, it is more extensive surgery.
